The "Playful Side Of Math"

My teacher (Go Mrs. Lenfestey) ask me to read a column by Steven Strogatz expressing his views on math and it's two sides: the "Serious Side" and the "Playful Side" (Insert joke here). His definition of the "Serious Side" is the math we do everyday from basic addition and subtraction to things like figuring taxes. His definition on the "Playful Side" is different see he thinks of the "Playful Side" as when you try to find different ways to solve the same problem. What does all this mean all this "Playful Side" "Serious Side" stuff well it means MATH IS FUN SO DO AN ALGEBRA EQUATION.

Inductive and Deductive Reasoning

So we've been doing Inductive and Deductive Reasoning for a while now and they are really confugiling and are totaly different i mean inductive uses examples to make a conjecture, deductive uses facts, rules, definitions, or properties to reach logical conclusions. (P.S. i am sooooooooo Team Edward) I am not totally sure what exactly we would use inductive and deductive reasoning but i imagine we would use inductive to determine things like if Phil gets money from uncle Pete and deductive to find the next number in a pattern.
